BOSTON-Fall in New England means cooler temperatures, apple picking, fall foliage, and the return of thousands of college students. On Friday, September 21 from 5 to 9 pm, new and returning college students are invited to celebrate the start of the school year with College Night at the Museum of Science.

College Night 2018 welcomes students back to the city in style by offering free Exhibit Halls admission, including the Theater of Electricity, Live Animal Shows, and Boston Duck Tours. Students will have the opportunity to experience Space: An Out of Gravity Experience, the museum’s newest special exhibition that brings you as close to space as you can get without leaving Earth. Shows in the Charles Hayden Planetarium, Mugar Omni Theater, and 4-D Theater, as well as entrance to the Butterfly Garden are all $6 per person, per event and can be purchased in advance day-of after 4:15pm or in-person at the Museum box office. In the Charles Hayden Planetarium, they can rock out to dazzling laser shows set to popular music including Coldplay, The Beyoncé Experience, or Laser Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon or experience outer space with From Dream to Discovery: Inside NASA and Undiscovered Worlds: The Search Beyond Our Sun. Under New England’s only 180-degree IMAX® Dome, students are invited to experience the otherworldliness of the ocean in Great Barrier Reef, cuddly Pandas, and a story of human ingenuity with Dream Big: Engineering Our World.

For those looking to relax during the festivities, refreshments are available for purchase in the Museum’s Riverview Café with food by Wolfgang Puck Catering. There will even be opportunities for students to win prizes such as free Red Sox tickets and passes to return to the Museum.

Students must bring their valid college I.D for free admission. For public transportation, students can take the Green Line/Lechmere train to the Science Park stop and parking is available at the Museum garage. The Museum of Science is wheelchair accessible and the 4-D Theater and Charles Hayden Planetarium are equipped for the visually and hearing impaired.
