The City of Somerville’s volunteer Boards and Commissions address numerous important issues and needs from affordable housing to recreation to bicycle infrastructure. Come to the “Volunteer Boards and Commissions Information Fair” on Thursday, September 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Somerville Central Library to learn about what they do and how to get involved. Hosted by the Health and Human Services Department, the event will be an opportunity for community members to get the details on individual commissions including the duties of each commission, the number of openings, and the application process. For further information, please contact Chris Hosman at firstname.lastname@example.org. For a list of City Boards and Commissions, visit www.somervillema.gov/commissions.
