Work Begins on New Somerville High School

Phase I of the new Somerville High School building project began this month, according to Somerville Public Schools’ April 17 Connections newsletter.

Students have moved out of the east wing of the old high school and into state-of-the-art modular on-site classrooms. At the same time, traffic patterns along the concourse near the high school and City Hall have changed to accommodate construction efforts and ensure student safety. Demolition and construction are set to begin in June. The entire high school project is expected to be complete in spring of 2021.
