Somerville News Weekly’s Special Person of the Week:SPD Captain Christopher Ward

Meet this week’s “Special Person of the Week:Christopher Ward

Congratulations to Christopher Ward on his promotion to Captain this past week!

This past week the City of Somerville’s police department promoted Christopher Ward to the rank of captain.

Christopher Ward began his desire to be a Somerville police officer when he was just a little child. His father William “Billy” Ward served as the chief mechanic in charge of repairing the police cruisers and keeping them safely on the road in the 1970s and 1980’s.

Christopher Ward as a child would always tagalong with his dad where his passion for becoming a Somerville Police Officer grew everyday.

Christopher Ward focused very hard through the years working and studying countless hours until his dream finally became reality and he was sworn in to be a Somerville Police Patrol Officer almost thirty years ago.

Captain Ward has served the City of Somerville for the past three decades in different divisions within the Somerville Police Deptpartment. Most recently as Accreditation Manager in May 2017.

Captain Ward has been involved in many charitable organizations across the city over the years and he is always the first in line to lend a helping hand to help out in the time of need in the Somerville Community.
