Real Life Somerville Police Stories: Christopher BURROWS (Larceny Over & Salem Warrant)

On February 26, 2018, while assigned to marked unit East-4, I responded to xxxx Avenue for a shoplifter they had in the office. Upon my arrival I was met by the store’s loss prevention associate, XXXX. Mr. XXXX informed me that the party, later to be identified as Mr. Christopher Burrows, Entered the store, selected several pairs of sunglasses, removed the security sensors from the glasses, and exited the store, bypassing all points of sale, and making no attempt to pay for the items. Mr. Burrows did not contest this. Mr. XXXX found four pairs of glasses on Mr. Burrows and upon a search of his person I found another pair, the total value of the glasses is $738.96. I contacted dispatch and a CJIS inquiry showed Mr. Burrows to have 2 outstanding warrants. I placed Mr. Burrows into custody (DL) and requested for the prisoner transport vehicle (Unit-200). Mr. Burrows was transported to the station and booked in the usual manner. I will be charging Mr. Burrows with Larceny over 250 dollars and removal of a theft detection device. A picture of the receipt will be attached to this report and I will be submitting video evidence when it is available from Mr. XXXX.

Respectfully submitted,

Officer Christopher Fusco #328
