This week’s “Special Persons of the Week” honors go out to the hard working men and women of the Somerville Department of Public Works and their contractors for an outstanding job battling the number of so many frequent snow storms of past winters.
These hard working individuals put up with a tremendous amount of abuse and neglect being taken for granted from the administration without contracts nor pay raises for quite some time now, but they just keep on ticking keeping the city moving and its citizens safe.
These hard working men and women spend so many countless hours clearing schools, municipal buildings, streets and sidewalks during long overnights and weekends so that we, the people of Somerville can be safe while we go to work in the mornings, and go on with our lives and daily routines.
Many times the DPW crews put up with a lot of criticism by some, but in the end they always come through and get the job done and we appreciate that!
We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.
