Real Life Somerville Police Stories: Salvator COCO (Larceny Over)Attempt Stealing of a TV

On Sunday February 4 2018, I was assigned to uniform patrol marked unit east 2. At approximately 6:00 PM I, along with officer Collette in cruiser east 3, was dispatched to 1xx Somerville Ave., xxxx, for a report of a shoplifter detained inside the loss prevention office. Upon arrival we made contact with the defendant in this case, Mr. Salvatore Coco. According to loss prevention, Mr. Coco attempted to leave the store with a TV without rendering payment. In addition, I was informed by loss prevention that Mr. Coco appears to match the description of the suspect from a previous incident, see CAD # 18006012. I observed the photograph from the previous incident, and it appears to be Mr. Coco.

The value of the TV that Mr. Coco attempted to steal was $279.99 US dollars. I then placed Mr. Coco under arrest for Larceny Over $ 250, M.G.L. C. 266 S. 30A.

He was transported to the Somerville Police Headquarters via unit 200 and booked by Lt. Vivolo. Also, be known that Mr. Coco also had active default warrant docket # 1510CR001831.

Respectfully submitted,

Officer Ducasse, 313
