Don’t Forget to Include Parking in your Holiday Plans

If you’re leaving your car behind to travel for the holidays (or anytime this winter), make sure you have a plan for snow emergencies. New England weather can be famously fickle and a sunny forecast can quickly change to snow. A few things to keep in mind:

• This winter parking is on the odd side of the street (unless otherwise posted) during snow emergencies.

• Parking passes need to be visible within 24 hours of the end of a snow emergency.

• Except during a snow emergency, vehicles aren’t allowed to be parked in the same spot for more than 48 hours.

Also, if you own property, remember that sidewalks need to be cleared within six daylight hours after snow stops falling. If you’ll be out of town, plan ahead so your neighbors can safely walk on the sidewalk.
