Obituary

Francis Xavier Fahey was born on March 1st 1950 and passed away on April of 2024 in Somerville.

Francis was a loving family man, who cared for all those around him. He was giving, curious, kind, supportive, and incredibly hardworking. Francis built a company from scratch, A1 Plumbing and Heating in Somerville, MA and was well known amongst the community. From being featured on television for his work and expertise, to having photographs of him showcased in an art exhibit about the characters of Somerville decades later – Francis was a local staple.

Francis loved all things nature; from fishing, to running, to road tripping and camping – he felt most himself surrounded by the peace and tranquility of the wilderness. He had most fun playing racquetball with friends, working out, and playing catch with his grandson. He was a man who loved and was loved. Gentle, intelligent, and warm.

“He was loved by his partner of nearly 50 years, Agnes Needham, whom he spent his most adoring moments with road-tripping to Maine.”

Francis is survived by his son, James, and his grandson, Marcus. He was the loving brother of Joseph Fahey and his wife Marie, Eileen Fahey and the late Robert Fahey, John Fahey, Marie Fahey, Edward Fahey, Leo Fahey, and William “Billy” Fahey. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
