Dear Billy T and Somerville News Weekly Speakup Line,

We were here at the Somerville Traffic and Parking Department breaking our ass every day for peanuts when suddenly on Wednesday we were notified that A Mr Heffernan, a personal friend of Mayor Joseph Curtatone is applying for a job as an accountant for the Somerville Traffic & Parking. His qualifications do not even specify anything of him having any knowledge of even being an accountant. 
 
Just to let you know that Mr Heffernan is a friend of the Mayor through renting skating rinks that that mayor’s children skate and play hockey at and he is also paid out funds by the city of Somerville as a vendor. This again is a major conflict of interest but it looks like that Mayor Joe doesn’t care because it’s not coming out of his pocket.  

He was interviewed by of all people, Ed Bean, the Director of Finance/Auditor that hS allegations of illegally placing close to two million dollars in idol during the Doherty Kelly Gay/Curtatone election in 2003. 

Sources tell us that what’s even more totally surprising is that the Director of Finance/Auditor in question even warned the mayor that he was in opposition of hiring Heffernan, but Mayor Curtatone replied that “Well he needs a job so hire him!” More of the mayor’s cronies/political hacks getting political jobs on the tax payers dime! Now that’s simply outrageous but then again Its Somerville, Home of the corrupt. One more complaint for the FBI to investigate!
