Lowell St sidewalk and street repaving work this summer, starting soon! — D&R Paving will begin work on all of Lowell St — from Somerville Ave. to Medford St — in about 2 weeks. First up, taking up to 2 months, is work to make the sidewalks more ADA compliant, starting at Somerville Ave & moving north to Magoun Sq. This work will require some parking restrictions, but the road will remain open to traffic most of the time. After the sidewalks, at the end of the summer or early fall, D&R will repave the road, which will require road closure for a few days. And they will be adding bump-outs, or chicanes, at Alpine St. & Wilton St. around the Lowell Street bridge.
