Snow Emergency Declared in Somerville Effective at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 7th

A snow emergency has been declared in Somerville effective at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 7. Because this is a #ParkEven snow season, avoid getting a ticket or being towed by moving your vehicle to the EVEN-side of the street (unless posted street signage says otherwise) or to a municipal lot by 2 p.m. A map of municipal lots can be found at http://www.somervillema.gov/snow/off-street-parking. Please take note that all cars will need to be moved from municipal lots within 2 hours AFTER the end of the emergency.

At this time, all recreation and school programming planned for Saturday will continue as planned, and all three branches of the library will remain open. Trash pickup scheduled for Saturday due to this week’s holiday delay will continue as normal.

Residents are also reminded that property owners are responsible for removing snow and ice from sidewalks abutting their property within 6 daylight hours of the end of snowfall. In cases of extreme snowfall or difficult conditions, the City may extend timelines for snow removal. All changes will be announced in advance.

If you have a non-emergency question or service request, please call 311 (or 617-666-3311 from cellphones or from outside the city). In case of emergency dial 911.
Again, this snow seasons vehicles need to be moved to the EVEN-side of the street during snow emergencies.
