Somerville’s 2nd Annual Veteran “Heroes Salute” Ceremony

The Veterans’ Commission on Monuments, Memorials and Dedications, in cooperation with Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and the Department of Veterans Services, hosted Somerville’s 2nd annual “Heroes Salute” Ceremony, inducting nine Somerville veterans to the City’s ”Heroes Square” program.

The Ceremony was held this past Saturday May 21, at 11 a.m., at the Somerville High School Auditorium, in conjunction with national Armed Forces Day. A dinner reception immediately followed at the Winter Hill Yacht Club on Foley Street

Honorees include:

· Sergeant Arthur J. Downey, U.S. Army, USPS

· Private First Class Edward J. Faulkner, Jr., U.S. Army, Somerville Police

· Specialist Fourth Class Alan N. Galatis, U.S. Army, City of Somerville
