The Somerville Girls Indoor Track Team won their first two meets of the season defeating Everett and Chelsea High schools. The Team is led by senior Captains Maureen McNabb, Leighann Nguyen and Melissa Sanon. After two meets, senior Melissa Sanon leads the team in scoring with a perfect 20 points followed by sophmores Isabella Ferrari and Fiona Borondy-Jenkins with 11 1/4 points. Sophmore Jackie Eloi is close behind with 11 points and Gabrielle Etienne, Maureen McNabb and Alice Egar have 10 points.  
At the State Wide Red Auerbach Freshman Sophmore meet held on Sunday January 2nd, Sophmore Youdine Felix placed 2nd in the 55m dash with a personal best time of 7.74, followed closely by Lourdes Jean-Louis in 12th place in 8.02. Both girls also competed in the Long Jump with Lourdes Jean-louis jumping 14′ 2″ and Youdine Felix jumping 14’0″. Jackie Eloi ran her personal best time in placing 6th in the 55m Hurdles with a time of 9.95. In the 600m run, Fiona Borondy-Jenkins ran her best time of 1:53.22 and Freshman Anne Donovan ran 2:03.44. Isabella Ferrari ran the 1000m in 3:44.08. 

 

The next meet is on Wednesday January 6th at 3:30 in the SHS Fieldhouse against Malden High School at 3:30..
