This past Thursday afternoon, the Somerville Kiwanis Club hosted its Annual Tri-meeting Luncheon for Toys for Tots.
The event took place at the Mount Vernon Restaurant that’s located on Broadway in Somerville.
The special guests of the day were the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots toy drive officers who collected and picked two van loads of toys for needy children to open up on Christmas morning as well as the Somerville High School Choir.
The Somerville High School Choir students opened up the event with a concert producing joyous holiday music that was just flowing throughout the function hall.
Also in attendance participating in the event were officers and members of both the Somerville Rotary Club as well as of the Somerville Lions Club.
The Somerville Kiwanis Club Tri-Meeting Luncheon is an annual event that has been taking place for a number of years in an effort to collect new unwrapped toys. The event is in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps program, Toys for Tots as well as to raise needed monies for charities that the Somerville Kiwanis Clubs support.
