Look people. Get all butt hurt and stand your ground on party lines or just whatever kind of stand you want to make because you don’t like the guy – but – Donald J. Trump’s comments about banning new Muslim immigrants from entering the country temporarily seems to more often than NOT include the last part of his statement which includes figuring out what is going on.

Here is where I need to point out that 8 US Code 1182 was enacted in, I believe, the early 1950’s and was utilized by President Carter in 1979 and it clearly states:

Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline.

Anyone, including the sitting President and/or anyone in his cabinet that willfully states that Trump has disqualified himself to be President is a complete asshole. And is purposely trying to mislead the American people. Period.

You might not like the idea, I get it. I don’t, to be honest, but it’s law. Parts of this very law have been repealed, so it’s not like it’s been a hot spot issue, even when Carter did it in 1979 (and not just to Iranians, although that was the main focus at the time).

The guy has a point – he just wants to press PAUSE for a hot minute to figure shit out. At least he speaks his mind.

You might not like Trump – I get it – and to be honest, it doesn’t matter. Just don’t let yourself fall victim to irresponsible media and party politics just for the sake of attempting to be part of the discussion. Ignorance does not supplant arrogance.
