It’s been an eventful week here at Somerville Animal Control! To top our busy week off, here is a call we handled this afternoon. This elderly pit bull thought he might enjoy some outside time by breaking through a second floor screen and jumping out onto the roof of a porch. As you can see, he got stuck and was very nervous. Thanks to the Somerville DPW bucket truck crew (specifically Joe Goode) ands an assist from the SPD, he was safely brought to earth.
A great job done by all!!

This is Beethoven. She was literally found crossing the road (Highland Rd, that is). Luckily, a Good Samaritan picked her up just as a car came by. It turns out Beethoven had escaped from her enclosure a few houses away. We are happy to report that she is safely back with her flock thanks to the kindness of a few neighbors.
It was nice to meet you, Beethoven!
