Somerville High Girls competed in the Notre Dame of Hingham Freshman Sophmore meet on Saturday April 25th.
This was a good test for our young Highlander squad and the girls did not disappoint. In the 100m Dash, 9th grader Youdine Felix placed 4th with a time of 13.39 and also jumped 14′ 1″ in the Long Jump. Also competing in the 100m were Pam Lalaj-15.38, Samantha Filmore-15.95, and Laury Belizaire-16.67. Frosh Jackie made it to the finals of the 100m Hurdles where she finished 7th with a time of 19.35 and jumped 29’11” in the Triple Jump, which was a personal best. Ninth grader Savanna Collins-Silva competed in her first big Saturday race and just missed scoring, running her personal best of 67.26. In the 800m Ileanna Perlera ran 3:18 and YuYing Chen ran 3:25, both of those times were their seasonal bests in that event. The young Lady Highlanders finished of the day with a great performance in the 4x100m Relay. The team of Samantha Filmore, Savanna Collins-Silva, Jackie Eloi and Youdine Felix placed 4th with a very fast time of 56.15.

Alice Egar ran her fastest time of the season with a 5:58 in the mile and Adrianna Massie took 13 seconds of her personal best in the mile with a great time of 6:46.
