The Somerville High Girls Track Team opened up their GBL dual meet season on Wednesday April 15th win a win against Everett High School.

The meet was held at sunny Dilboy Stadium. The Lady Highlanders won the meet by a score of 85-44. This years Outdoor team is led by senior Co-Captains Saragrace Magre and Catherine Nakato. Double winners for SHS were; Jackie Eloi in the 400m Hurdles and the 100m Hurdles, Melissa Sanon in the Triple Jump and High Jump, Gabrielle Etienne in the Shot Put and the Discus, Maureen McNabb in the 2mile and the 800m. Also garnering first places for the Highlanders were Alice Egar in the Mile, Savanna Collins-Silva,Youdine Felix in the 100m, and Brenda Nguyen in the Javelin.

Next up for SHS track is the GBL Freshman-Sophmore meet to be held on Wednesday April 22 at 10am at Dilboy Stadium.
