The Teen Empowerment’s co-ed youth-police basketball game took place this past Friday night at the East Somerville Community School.

The game featured teams of youth and police working together.

The event opened up with speeches from Mayor Curtatone, Chief Fallon and Somerville youth about police-youth-community relations in the wake of the national controversy on policing.

At half-time, there was a 3 point and skills competition pairing youth and police officers.

At the end, the Red team won 47 – 46.

It was a close game that came down to final seconds.

The police and teens were on the same teams. Somerville Police Chief Fallon was on the red team that won.

The game concluded with a pizza party in the cafeteria.
