Sean Collier Memorial Plaque Unveiled in Somerville

The City of Somerville unveiled the Collier Memorial Plaque Presentation on Saturday in the lobby of the Somerville Police Station.

Members of Sean Collier’s family, fellow police officers and elected officials where present for the presentation event.

MIT Police Officer Sean Collier was fatally shot as he sat in his cruiser.

Authorities say he was killed by the two suspects, the Tsarnaev brothers, who are accused of carrying out the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

Four months after Sean Collier was allegedly killed by the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, Officer Collier was posthumously sworn in as a Somerville Police officer.
