The City of Somerville’s Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Award recognizes an
individual, organization or youth that has exemplified the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King in the community of Somerville over the past year, including promoting human and civil rights, showing courage in standing up for one’s principles, striving for equality, respect, and dignity of all people, striving for economic justice, showing a commitment to non-violence, inspiring others to practice these ideals, has not received this award previously, resides or works Somerville.

Deadline for nominations was January 7th and could of been completed online, submitted electronically at; by mail to Sonja Darai, City Hall Annex, 50 Evergreen Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143. For more information, please call 311. You may nominate just one category or all three. Your choice.
