We took a big leap forward with a great meet against CRLS in our opening meet and followed that up with some impressive performances at Tufts last
week. Yesterday at the Reggie Lewis Center Track in Boston (GBL Invitational w- CRLS, Malden, Everett, Medford, Somerville & invited teams from Quincy & Randolph), Joao Baptista leaped over 6’3” in the HJ to record the #3 best jump in Massachusetts for the indoor season-to date and Marcelo Brociner broke the SHS 1000 meter record, formerly held by Keith O’Donnell-2006, by 2 tenths of a second with the #3 fastest time in MA (2:37.22) to date. (CRLS- Esu Alemseged has the #1 time). The Mile featured Paulo & Travis in their first official sub 5 time!! -NOT too bad for a holiday meet with a number of athletes away for the holiday week.
