On February 26, 2026, Somerville Police K-9 Missy assisted the Brookline Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service New England Cyber Fraud Task Force during the execution of a search warrant in Brookline. The investigation resulted in the arrest and charging of an individual in connection with a child sexual abuse material (CSAM) case.

K-9 Missy is specially trained to locate electronic storage devices such as cell phones, USB drives, hard drives, and other digital media — evidence that is crucial in investigations involving online child exploitation. Her work helps investigators quickly locate evidence and supports efforts to protect victims and hold offenders accountable.
