On Tuesday, March 12, we had the pleasure of meeting Nick and his mother Sheri.

Sheri explained to us that Nick has autism and deals with difficulties in everyday life, however he loves First Responders and especially the police. Sheri brings Nick all over New England to visit Police Stations and collect challenge coins and patches. In fact, Nick has over 1000 police patches. We were able to get Nick several of our specialty patches, including one for Autism awareness. Nick was so excited, we had to bring him to see our west end substation’s collection. Nick was so happy to drive in the cruiser and play with the sirens. Thank you to the Somerville Fire Department for showing Nick their trucks. Thank you to Tufts Police for also showing Nick their cruisers and giving him several of their specialty patches as well. Nick was so happy to spend the day with his friends in the First Responder community. We can’t wait to have him back for more fun.
