On Monday December 18th, members of the Community Affairs Unit along with several Somerville Police Officers were able to drop off all of the toys they collected from their toy drive.
After Toys for Tots notified the Mystic Learning Center they would not be able to fulfill their donations this year for children in need, the Community Affairs Unit thought of the Fill-a-Cruiser idea. This is where people donate toys and place them in a police cruiser in an attempt to fill it full of presents. Partnering with the Somerville Target store, the Community Affairs Unit spent three weekends collecting donations from the community. They were so successful that they are now able to help 3 other organizations in the community. The Somerville Police along with their Community Affairs Unit want to thank everyone that donated. You have made Christmas very special for over 100 children this year!

Sincere and heartfelt thanks to the members of the Community Affairs Unit along with several Somerville Police Officers for the toy drive donations today. The SHA is grateful for this spirit of meaningful giving this holiday season.
That’s great but police chief refuses to do his job or call constituents back.
