DENNIS’ OBITUARY
Dennis James Zografos passed away at the age of 35 on August 4th 2023 at his home after struggling for the past three years with an epilepsy diagnosis.
Dennis was a brilliant individual. He dedicated the majority of his time to creative projects, his work as a Game Developer, and his beloved cats Enzo & Penelope.
He was a prominent figure & board member for the Firefly Arts Collective in Bethel VT. During his 10+ years attending the annual Firefly Festival, he went from being a valued attendant & contributor to a respected Board Member and leader in the community; dedicating a large portion of his time & resources to supporting it.
Dennis led the production of several major video game titles during his decorated and diverse career, as well as being an avid retro Macintosh fanatic and incredible software engineer. He was truly a savant and “spoke” at least 7 coding languages fluently.
His love of all things engineering stemmed from his early childhood interests while growing up on Cape Cod: electronics, coding, and creating in all disciplines. From the start he was a true teacher and leader, and became a valued mentor to many.
As an avid music & film fan, he created many multimedia Audio / Video projects involving light projection art and performed regularly as a multi-genre DJ. He split his time between Bethel, VT and his home in Somerville, MA. Dennis contributed regularly to the local art scenes and loved to explore the culinary culture in Davis Square & beyond.
Dennis was an empathetic, fiercely independent, and humble individual who greatly affected all who were fortunate enough to be in his life.
He leaves behind many relatives and friends. Parents George and Cathy Lee Zografos, brothers Paul and Cory Zografos, and dearest friends Sarina Canelake and Samantha Coren.
Services will be private.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
