Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line: Somerville Community Choice Electricity Program

A warning to residents who should have recieved a letter from the City of Somerville regarding the “Choice Electricity Program’. The City has automatically enrolled everyone into this program so it is really not a CHOICE since you have to opt out. Anyone who may have ignored the letter are in for a surprise.

They state in the brochure the rate will be lower than Eversource until 2024 and DOES NOT GUARENTEE a SAVINGS.
I question what right does the city have intefering with MY electric bill.
It should be if you choose to participate you opt in not have opt out.
