BETTY’S OBITUARY
Murphy, Bridget fondly called Betty (née Davenport) Of Somerville, formerly of Doolin, County Clare Ireland passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was 92.
Born and raised in Doolin, County Clare Ireland. She was the daughter of the late Austin and Elizabeth (née Driscoll) Davenport.
Beloved wife of 67 years to the late Timothy Murphy who passed away in March of 2021.
Devoted mother of Dennis J. Murphy and his wife Rosanne, Timothy P. Murphy and his companion Barbara Moloney all of Somerville, Kevin F. Murphy and his wife Kathy of Arlington, Thomas J. Murphy and his wife Kathy of Wolfeboro, NH, John J. Murphy and his wife Carrie of Arlington, Eileen E. Murphy and her husband Bruce Morrill of Medford, Maureen M. Arsenault and her husband Mark of Medford, and Michael W. Murphy of Somerville. Mother in-law of the late Maureen (née Bartlett) Murphy.
Loving grandmother of Brendan and his wife Etif, Kelsey and her companion Sean, Andrew and his wife Tiffany, Caitlin, Kyle, Kayla, Kara, David, Claire, Timothy and his wife Delphine, Philip and his wife Kun, Caroline, Alex, Siobhain, Aidan and the late Haley. Cherished great grandmother of Rhoda and Riley.
Dear sister of Maryann Foose and John Davenport and the late Thomas, Catherine, Austin, and Michael.
Also survived by many family members in the United States, Ireland, England and Australia.
A funeral procession will be held at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on Thursday, November 17 at 9:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 64 Warner St., Medford at 10:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, November 16th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Services will conclude with Betty being laid to rest with her beloved husband at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Betty was a proud and loving mother who cherished every moment she had with her beloved family. She took being the role of a mother very seriously and was known for her loving, kind and gentle soul.
