Write Together – Thursdays in August

Join the Somerville Public Library and writer Amy Johnson on Thursday evenings in August for 2-hour online cowriting sessions.

Come to one session or all of them, for as long as you’d like. Work on your own piece or start from an optional prompt. Deep in a memoir? Revising a screenplay? Or just want some time to play with words and see where your pen/keyboard takes you? Any and all kinds of writing are welcome.

Sessions take place online starting Thursday, August 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. Register to attend with the info below.

Write Together: Virtual Cowriting Summer Sessions
THURSDAY, AUGUST 47:00—9:00 PM
Zoom

Celebrate the last month of summer with some weekly writing as part of a community! Join the SPL and Amy Johnson every Thursday evening in August for 2-hour online cowriting sessions. We’ll start with 10 minutes of chat, then break to write for 50 minutes—and then do it all over again.

Sessions are designed to be flexible: Come to one session, come to every session. Come for one hour or for both. Advance a work-in-progress or write from optional writing prompts (provided). Whatever works for your schedule and process.

Any and all kinds of writing are welcome. Deep in a memoir? Revising a screenplay? Started a project during July’s Camp NaNoWriMo and eager to keep the momentum alive? Writing a game or visual novel for the July–September SuNoFest game jam? These sessions are for you. Or maybe you want some time to play with words, to write an impromptu poem, to just see where your pen/keyboard takes you—these sessions are for you, too.

These are relaxed, low-pressure sessions intended to uplift. Come write with us!
