Daddy Jones Bar & Restaurant offers Thursday night trivia!

SOMERVILLE, MA, ISSUED APRIL 11, 2022…Daddy Jones Bar and Restaurant (, a lively restaurant offering outdoor dining, casual Greek food and burgers, and which has served the Somerville community since 2012, is introducing a fun activity for family and friends alike: Thursday Night Trivia, right at the restaurant at 525 Medford Street.

Come join your friends and neighbors each Thursday evening starting at 8 p.m. to test your trivia skills. It’s all in fun, and there are prizes given away each week to the top competitors. There is no cost to attend, but reservations are required and people can register on the website or at the restaurant. Thursday Night Trivia offers a different theme each week. Contests have included about Golden Girls, Real Housewives and a range of topics from the classic to the edgy. John Flaherty, a manager at Daddy Jones, is the trivia host.

Owner Dimitra Murphy notes that the next trivia contest, scheduled for April 14, is “Cancelled.” She says, “We’ve all heard a lot about cancel culture. We have an actual trivia contest about people who have been cancelled because of something they’ve done or that they haven’t done. Come and join in the fun!”

Owner Dimitra Murphy, a Somerville native with deep ties to the community, invites customers to come for dinner prior to trivia. Dinner is served from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, until 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturday and to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Daddy Jones also offers weekend Coffee Shop services and anticipates opening their patio for outdoor dining in the near future. And for those who prefer take-out, they can order online.

Dimitra Murphy opened Daddy Jones Bar and Restaurant after having worked in the hospitality and restaurant industry in the Boston area for a number of years. The Boston University graduate worked with The Lyons Group to open several establishments, served as General Manager of The Alibi Bar & Lounge at the Liberty Hotel, and managed several other facilities. A lifelong Somerville resident, she is a former cross country coach for Somerville High School and holds a Real Estate License. She launched Daddy Jones, a 100% woman-owned business, in 2012.

Daddy Jones Bar and Restaurant is a neighborhood restaurant offering casual dining with specialties in Greek and American cuisine. The restaurant has operated with a “community first” focus throughout its nine-year history, partnering with many community organizations and hiring a number of Somerville High School graduates over the years. Daddy Jones began as a small cocktail bar and under Dimitra Murphy’s leadership it has grown into a favorite place for Somerville and vicinity residents to come and enjoy a meal with friends and neighbors.

Daddy Jones offers mobile online ordering or counter ordering, as the restaurant does not use wait staff. Through the online ordering methods, the restaurant shares tips with all Daddy Jones team and the restaurant is proud to offer a liveable wage to employees and support the often forgotten Back Of House staff when it comes to the sharing of tips! Daddy Jones is known for its tzatziki, gyros and Chris Burgers! Customers are encouraged to enjoy a cocktail, beer or a coffee at one of their two patios.
