BARBARA’S OBITUARY
Barbara J. (DiVico) Griffin, a longtime Somerville resident, passed away surrounded by her devoted family on Saturday, November 20, 2021, she was 77.

Born in Newton, she was one of nine girls born to Marjorie (Munroe) and Joseph DiVico. Barbara worked for many years at Stop and Shop and Star Markets and for the Somerville Traffic Department as a School Crossing Guard. In her retirement years she enjoyed an occasional trip to Foxwoods and was active with St. Ann Bingo, above all she was devoted to her family and enjoyed time spent together.
She was the devoted mother of Annmarie Griffin of Somerville and cherished grandmother of Luke Griffin and his wife Danielle of Malden. Dear sister of Elaine Orser and husband Tom of Wells, ME, Lori Handley and husband Dave of Franklin, Donna Allen and husband Ray of Shrewsbury, Debra Kay and husband Paul of Dennis, Margie Minneau and husband Reál of Woonsocket, RI, Joanne Nevells and husband Ted of Franklin, Mary Kelso and husband John of Cambridge and the late Carol Schmiz. Barbara was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Wednesday, Dec. 1st from 4:00PM-7:00PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.org.
