Obituary:

Jose R. Moura, age 65, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2021, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born on Oct. 15th, 1956, in Santa Maria, Azores. He moved to the United States and settled in Cambridge. He married the love of his life Maria Resendes, and eventually the couple moved to Wilmington where they raised their daughter, Jennifer.

Jose was a hard worker, working for the New England Baptist Hospital and most recently for Rocco’s Restaurant in Wilmington. He loved nothing more than spending time with family and visiting his relatives in his native home of Santa Maria.

Jose was the beloved husband of Maria (Resendes) Moura of Wilmington. He was the devoted father of Jennifer Moura Lampedecchio & her husband Eric of Peabody. Jose was the cherished son of Emilia Paiva Resendes of Canada and the late Antonio Resendes Moura. He was the dear brother of Ilda Andrade & her husband Jose, Beatriz Barros & her husband Manuel and Jose Antonio Moura & his wife Fatima, all of Canada. Jose was the brother-in-law of Antonio Resendes of Portugal, Lidia Resendes of Portugal, Edward Resendes of Massachusetts and Jose Antonio Resendes & his wife Maria of Tewksbury. Jose is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends will gather for a funeral at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, on Wednesday, November 10th, at 9:00 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral mass at St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rt 38), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 9th, from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
