Somerville Remembering Edward M. Pellegrini

Our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Edward M. Pellegrini on his passing.

Edward M. Pellegrini will be sadly missed here in Somerville.

Edward M. Pellegrini, of Somerville, passed away on February 14, 2021. Born and raised in Somerville he was the son of the late Assunta (Ricci) and Edward P. Pellegrini.
Beloved husband of Candace (McCannon) Pellegrini. Devoted father of Joseph T., Edward J. and his partner Veronica Tavares all of Somerville. Cherished grandfather of Damien and Sebastian Pellegrini. Dear brother of Christine Green of Florida. Edward is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Thursday at 10AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. All those attending the Funeral Mass please register online at
Calling Hours will be held Wednesday from 4PM – 7PM. Interior capacity of the funeral home is limited to 25 people at any given time. We respectfully ask you to please pay your respects and then exit to allow others to do the same. Face masks and social distancing protocols are required for all services.
Interment will be private.
Edward was an honorably discharged Navy veteran, serving during Vietnam. He retired from the Somerville DPW and was very active in local sports coaching and umpiring Little League, Baseball and Pop warner Football. He also kept busy during retirement working part time at the McGrath Highway Stop&Shop. He enjoyed time spent on his motorcycle, traveling and above all visiting family.
