OH BELIEVE IT! Another Somerville Real Estate Sales Tax…2% on every sale! Mad about the Somerville Condo Review Ordinance, GET READY, this ADDED 2% Real Estate Transfer Tax has already sneaked through and passed Somerville for approval and is now at the state level to be heard next week before the Joint Committee on Revenue Bill H.2423. There is 1% due from the Seller AND 1% from the Buyer’s that will be due. It’s being sold as something ‘everyone’ in Somerville thinks is a ‘great idea’….property values WILL drop…😡 Mad as hell?… this is a public hearing and as a Somerville resident you should feel free to express your opinion…the attack on your real estate equity continues…next up, rent control. That’s the socialist road we’re heading down…
