I’m totally Lmfao on this wasted Saturday morning.
The city of Somerville hired over fifty of us private snow contractors to just sit around and battle nothing at all at around $150hr each at the taxpayers expense. No snow here maybe only one inch?
Its just another hit of many throughout the years of hitting on our pockets again because DPW Commissioner Kotex got it wrong again and Crooked Curtaphony was thinking of a different type of snowstorm. Nevertheless we the taxpayers paid for it again.
It’s time for people to wake up, open our eyes and put these ass clowns in the rearview mirror and elect new blood.
Well I’m going back to my comfortable dump truck and checkout Facebook on my ipad and maybe even order myself a copy of Tauro’s Stealing Somerville while you taxpayers are paying me $150 per hour 💰and well at least I’m getting my money back in one way or another.
I think we need to add a new tax so we can purchase a window for whoever is making these snow emergency decisions. I can remember when Don Kent retired that was one of his gifts. Guess he should have passed it along.
Simply put poor management. An evaluation of each news stations prediction of the forecast, track, timing and temperature after would have enabled someone to make a more logical decision.
We do not need knee jerk reactions just some common sense along with patience. Its a Saturday morning snow day no kids going to school and the parents are home. A possibility of a few inches snow is not the end of the world, even the safety conscious bicyclist were out riding in it.
Instead an 8:00 pm snow emergency is declared. City employees and contractors waiting to treat or plow our roads hours before it even starts. Traffic control officers begin tagging at midnight writing hundreds of 100.00 tickets that will be dismissed if you appeal it.
This is the second time this season that this same exact situation occurred but it did not snow and the tickets were not dismissed.
I would like to think that our City Councillors would address this at the next meeting and during the budget hearings. The money being wasted could very well go toward traffic calming, road repairs, and other important items that lack adequate finances.
Does anyone have a tape measure for a 3 foot wide path!!! And don’t put snow into street. What lunatic thought that one up. As I have stated many times to many people this council/alderperson/alderman what ever they or you call them, elect a clown expect a circus, also, the inmates are in charge of the asylem. One more thing, approx. 30 years ago we went to odd side parking because that side throught the city provided more parking for the citizens. A study was done where they hand counted the parking and that was the conclusion. Now 30 years later the inmates cower and go back to odd and even. Good luck, many of you will be tagged and towed because the powers that be don’t give a crap about you.
