Four Old Somerville Friends Reminisce

Hi Billy and Somerville News Weekly,

My friend Richie has cancer pretty bad and we have been out of touch for a while. Well he called the other day and said he would like to get together, so we jumped at the chance. I know he follows the Somerville News so if you could put this in the paper he would love it. As sick as he is we had a lot of laughs.

Thanks,

Billy Gioiosa

L. to R. – Bobby Fattibene (AKA Bobby Rome), Bill Gioiosa, Dennis Hodgdon and Richie Foley. We finally got a chance to visit with Richie. We had a lot of fun reminiscing stories about the White Tower, Pal Joey’s and Winter Hill. It is great to look back to all the great friends we had. We had some wild and fun times. Looking forward to getting together again. Thanks to Richie’s wife Patty for putting up with us.

  1. I worked many times in Pal Joey’s interested 60s as guitarist with “Everett and The Screamers.”
It was a wonderful time in my life.

  2. I don’t know you guys but theres something about older Somerville boys from back in the good old days that warms my heart……….

  3. Best wishes to Richie as he battles cancer. Hang in there my friend. You are in my prayers. I think it’s so wonderful that friends get together to support a friend.

I know who Richie is, but I don’t think he would remember me. I have known Dennis for a long time-have not seen him in years. The beard is the berries, Dennis. And Bobby-you don’t know me, but you were one heck of a funny guy. Do you still do the “Ostrich Walk?” Those were great days in the old Somerville and the Hill. Sure do miss them. Guys, stay tight, stay friends, and keep on helping Richie through his ordeal. You guys are what made Somerville a great town in the good old days.

Keep on keeping on and God be with you!
