This year’s 18th annual Boston Comedy Festival is packing 9 days of comedy into 5 days of funny.
The festivities kick off @ 9:30 PM, Wednesday, September 20th with”World Champion” Judah Friedlander, of ’30 Rock’ fame, at the Once Ballroom, 156 Highland Ave. in Somerville MA. Tickets are $22. The 7 PM show at the same venue features Michelle Buteau, from Adult Swim’s ‘The Eric Andre Show’, and Comedy Central’s ‘Key and Peele’. Tickets are $15.

Open-Mike Gameshow Live Podcast offers new and latecomers one minute of stage time in exchange for an endless torrent of comedic critique from a professionally funny panel of four. 9 PM on Friday, September 22 @ The Center for Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA. Tickets are just $22. At 7 PM in the same venue that night, is Matt Braugher, of ‘Bojack Horseman’ and Marvels ‘Agent Carter’. He has one show only, and at $25, tickets will go fast.
Finally, at 7 PM at the Somerville Theatre at 55 Davis Square will be the legendary Todd Barry. Ever-present on Letterman, Conan, and Kimmel, The NY Times has described him as “an impossibly cool combination of Jack Nicholson in his prime and a smug jazz DJ after a few bong hits.” Tickets are $22. At 9 PM that night at the same venue is the BCF Comedy Contest Finals. The exciting conclusion of a contest that boils 48 comics down to 1, Boston crowd work legend, Jim McCue, will hilariously host this winner-take-all event. Tickets are $25.
