The Fishin with a Mission Salt Water Striped Bass and Bluefish Fish Tournament was held this past Saturday at the Mystic Wellington Yacht Club in Medford. This tournament is held annually as part of the Fishin with a Mission Autism Awareness Event that was held on July 30, 2017. The tournament had to be rescheduled at that time due to poor sea conditions.

Anglers from around area fished this event to help raise money for the My Little Buddy’s Boat Charity that was created to help support local schools that specialize in helping children challenged with Autism and help create more Autism Awareness.

The “Battle on the Mystic River” continued as fishing vessel ” Maggie May” of the Mystic Wellington Yacht Club won the tournament for a 3rd consecutive year. Captain Jack Jandreau caught a stiped bass fish weighing in at a whopping 27.8 lbs. to win 1st place and crewman Bob Crowthers took 2nd place with a strip bass weighing in at 25.6 lbs. Randy DiBacco of Winter Hill Yacht Club’s 23.4lb. fish gave him a strong 3rd place.

The Fishin with a Mission Autism Awareness Event raises thousands of dollars annually to help this great cause. If anyone would like to donate please go to http://www.mylittlebuddysboat.com to learn more.
