The Somerville News Weekly Special Person of the Week:Maureen (Sissy) Doherty

By Frank Santangelo

Meet this week’s “Special Person of the Week:Maureen (Sissy) Doherty
Sissy is a lifelong Somerville resident who loves this city with all her heart. Sissy, a daughter of veteran Somerville Police Officer Bernie Doherty, attended Saint Annes as a child then later graduated from Saint Clements with the Class of 1988.
In school, she was on the “Homecoming Court”, the committee which actully picks the Homecoming Queen.
Sissy was also the bright eyed young girl that would also serve you your ice cream at the ‪Brighams‬ that used to be located on Winter Hill back in Somerville during the 1980’s.
She also worked at Bickfords back in the day where crowds used to go to get their morning after breakfasts after long night of nightclubbing.
Sissy is currently working at Foley and Lander LLC, a firm out of Boston and she still lives in the city that she loves and she will always continue to be a very big part of Somerville.
Our hats are off to her true team spirit!

We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.

Congratulations!
