SHS Building Committee, Mayor Curtatone to Discuss Preferred Option, Financial Information at May 23rd Meeting

Are you interested in learning more about the proposed rebuilding of Somerville High School? Join the Somerville High School Building Committee (SBC) and Mayor Curtatone at the May 23, SBC meeting to hear about the proposed option, “4b,” its current design, and additional options being discussed. At its last meeting, the project team presented estimates for what the City’s share of funding for the project would be, which could range from $160 million to $230 million. The Committee will work to reduce estimates in the coming weeks before presenting a final proposal to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Last week, the Committee and Mayor Curtatone announced that a Proposition 2 ½ debt exclusion vote would likely be necessary to complete the project. The meeting will be held Monday, May 23, at 5:30 p.m., in the Somerville High School Auditorium, 81 Highland Ave. All are welcome.
