Wahlberg’s to Film Patriots Day Movie in Somerville

According to sources, the makers of the film “Patriots Day” staring Mark Wahlberg have signed a lease to rent a property in Somerville located at 160-200 McGrath Highway, the former location of Pats Towing Service.

Patriots Day is an upcoming 2016 American drama film directed by Peter Berg written by Matt Charman, Eric Johnson, and Paul Tamasy, about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombingsand a manhunt of a terrorist led by Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis.

The film stars Mark Wahlberg, J. K. Simmons, and John Goodman. Principal photography began on March 29, 2016 in Quincy and Boston, Massachusetts. The film will be released in limited theaters in Los Angeles, Boston and New York on December 21, 2016, with a wide release on January 13, 2017.
