This Saturday, June 20th there will be two exciting events that involve: storytelling, media & digital technology, identity, nostalgia and sense of place.

In Union Square (12-1pm at SCATV): The first one is hosted by WGBH’s FRONTLINE Records Manager, John Campopiano, who has launched New England Media & Memory Coalition, a regional organization dedicated to fostering discussion and promoting a better understanding of how media and digital and analog technologies intersect with and relate to memory, identity, nostalgia and senses of place. First up will be a visit and presentation by Laurelin Kruse, director and curator of the Mobile Museum of American Artifacts. Laurelin’s presentation will take place at SCATV and will be filmed for posterity (12-1pm, Free).

In Davis Square (3-5pm at Davis Sq. Theatre): Later that afternoon, join us for the Community Vault screening at the Davis Square Theater—an event showcasing archived programs alongside contemporary media contributed by community media centers from around Massachusetts (3-5pm, $7).

These are fun events that you do not want to miss. Please check them out! If you have any questions, please contact Erica Jones at membership@scatvsomerville.org or at 617. 628. 8826
