In a new partnership with the City of Somerville, the MBTA
is offering reduced fare passes to eligible 12- to 21-year-old residents via their Youth Pass pilot program. The pilot will run run for a year from July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2016, and a limited number of passes will be issued. Somerville youth in this age bracket may apply for the program, which will offer monthly passes for $26 or a 7-day pass for $7 based on availability, by filling out an application found at mbta.com/youthpass, or in the Personnel Department at City Hall, 93 Highland Ave. A total of 1,500 participants will be randomly selected from applications received for the program, which is also being conducted in Boston, Chelsea, and Malden. Applications must be submitted to the MBTA by April 30, 2015.
