Dear Friends & Supporters,
After nearly 44 years of operation, the leadership of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County has decided to shift its operation from a four Club model to a two Club model as of July 1, 2015, with future programming focused in Medford and Somerville.

The Cambridge Clubhouse will close on June 30, 2015. In the months ahead, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers will work with community partners, including the Community Art Center, the Agenda for Children, and the Cambridge Housing Authority to ensure neighborhood-based youth programs continue in that space. Our goal is the successful placement of all 52 of our young members in other affordable, high-quality after-school and summer programs.

The Everett Teen Club will transition to new management as of June 30, 2015. The Club’s programming for teens has been recognized as a vital resource in the community by the City of Everett, the Everett Public Schools and other area youth programs. We are pleased that Everett community leaders are committed to seeing that the Teen Program continues beyond the Boys & Girls Clubs’ time as the lead agency.

We are proud of all our accomplishments in Cambridge and Everett and sincerely thank you for supporting our efforts. While this is a difficult transition for us, we will be better positioned to carry out our mission moving forward. We are excited about the future for our organization and remain committed to building a greater future for our Clubs and the young people we serve.

Thank you for your continued support of Clubs, our members and our staff through this transition.

Sincerely,

Steven M. D’Agati, Board of Directors, President
Lindsay Smythe, Executive Director
