The Somerville High Girls Track team competed in the MSTCA Winter Festival Track meet on Saturday December 20, which was held at the Reggie Lewis

Center in Boston. Junior Gabrielle Etienne placed second in the Shot Put with a personal best throw of 34′ 3/4″. Captain Saragrace Magre competed in the 300m with an impressive early season time of 45.37 and Long Jumped 13’11”. Competing in the 55m dash were Jehan Tavares-Mathurin with a time of 8.55, Phoebe Melchiskey 8.81 and Olivia Thorpe in 8.86. Competing in the 300m were Katia Mathews in a personal best of 49.82, Paamela Lalaj in 50.52 and Freshman Jocely Pierre-Louis in 50.55. 600m runners were newcomer Priscilla Jovel 1:54.23, Jennifer Bermudez 1:59.76 and Isabella Ferrari in 2:06.44. We had two personal indoor bests in the mile with Sophmore Alice Egar running a 5:52.14 and sophmore Adrianna Massie running a 6:59.37. Along with Gabrielle Etienne in the Shot put we had Iesha Guerrier throw 23′ 9″ and Lissa Sanon came in at 23′ 7 1/2″. Next up for the Highlanders will be Greater Lawrence Vocational coming to the SHS fieldhouse for the first time ever on Monday December 22 and then the Holiday Challenge on December 27th at the RLC which will feature teams from all over New England and New York.
