In a joint effort, the Somerville Police Department, Somerville Fire Department and Massachusetts State Fire Marshal announce an arrest has been made in relation to a fire that destroyed a home under construction at 75 Thurston St on August 20, 2025.
Police arrested John Grasso (35) who is currently unhoused for Wanton Destruction of Property and Breaking and Entering a Building in the Nighttime. The incident remains under investigation.

” Unhoused ” Not homeless? This is a perfect example of stupidity by elected officials who ignore those running through our city causing harm to people, property and businesses.
It is time to properly address the people who are homeless, addicted and suffering from mental illness. That are coming in from Boston and Cambridge destroying the community one day at a time.
Sadly three houses were destroyed causing turmoil for the residents. Thank God no one was injured or killed!
