Billy Goodspeed, of Somerville, passed away in the early hours of Monday, April 28, 2025. Born October 22, 1980, Billy was a lifelong sports fan, especially of wrestling.
He loved turning sports into family events, like the many memorable Super Bowl parties and WrestleManias with his kids. He also loved finding new favorite restaurants, reading, watching the night sky from his balcony, and discussing the unknown. His primary joy, though, was spending time with his children and grandson.
He is survived by his beloved children, Dylan, Logan, Cheyanne Goodspeed and their mother Jen S Goodspeed ; his grandson Grayson Goodspeed; his parents Karen & Dennis McCarthy; his brother & sister-in-law Shawn & Nora Goodspeed; his sister Jenn A Goodspeed and her longtime companion, Dave Ruf; his nephew Carter Ruf; his nieces Freyja and Eliza Goodspeed; and his cats, Pickles, Punky, and Peppers. He is predeceased by his father, Roland Goodspeed, and his two legs.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, located at 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 6:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
