       Giving Thanks the LION Way

Last week we saw the Wind Roar and the Rain Roar…tough night but not for LIONS who ROAR all Year!  This year’s 7th Turkey Raffle was a nice success at the Fireman’s Hall on Salem St.  

Knowing November as a Thanks type month, we gave a Club Member blessing and told news of the history and great “eyesight,” Mass Eye Research, and Disaster Aid ” from this grand World Charity.   Guests were part of a buffet and raffles for 3 big birds, turkey breast,gift items , and a Christmas basket of pork roast and goodies! Also,  In the light of giving, Mr. William “Bill” Tauro who gave years of time to the Lions and was a

Local candidate for Office  spoke enumerating all efforts he gives through Realty work and unselfish days to the “Somerville/Medford News.”. For years now, sadly, Medford had no paper publication so we hope many can continue to read about Medford News either hard cc or Online by him.  In pouring rain, the cause gave us spirit to bring items and celebrate fun spirit  for ALL.

The Medford LIONS wants to extend thanks for donations from

Jen’s nails, Princess Nails,  Wellington’s Pizza, Vita Insurance,  Heritage Florist, all the gobble birds from Stop & Shop!  We mention Special thanks to caterer  Peter DeSantis of Avellino’s for fine food and Generous donation!

Monies from the buffet and raffle tickets and upcoming May event are distributed this year to MLERF, The Medford HS Scholarship for an Eye or Hearing Impaired Senior, and the Medford VFW.  Come join us please at any event or be part of our well know Club.
