Obituary
Mr. Edward A. Cooper, of Somerville, passed away suddenly at home on August 30, 2024, he was 58. Born in Boston, Eddie was one of eight children born to the late Josephine (Ryerson) and Robert Collinson. A proud member of Teamsters Local 25, he worked for the Watertown branch of UPS.
Eddie was the devoted father of Edward Cooper, Jr and Christopher Cooper, both of Somerville and beloved fiancé to their mother, the late Donna M. Fay, who he missed every day since her passing in June of 2022. Stepfather of Joseph Hardy of New Hampshire. Cherished grandfather of Bella Hardy. Dear brother of Henry, Joan, Jeanie, Tony, Russell and the late James and Charles Cooper. Eddie is further survived by his mother-in-law, Patricia (Vando) Nutt of Somerville, sister-in law, Marianne Gullotto and her husband John of Arlington, brothers-in- law, Joseph Fay and his wife Cheryl of Tewksbury, James Nutt of Somerville, and Andrew Nutt and his wife Celia of Dracut and uncle to their families. He loved his dogs, Mushu and Bouncer who enjoyed their walks around Castle Island.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Friday, September 6th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:30PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
Interment will be held privately.
